If there is a possibility to be overwhelmed by ideas for saving money, then I say stress me out! If you're always looking for new ideas to save and make room in your budget--even if just a bit--here are a few tips that I either consistently use today or have in the past, and some I've had others let me know have worked well for them whether that's making more money, or going straight to the source to get an expensive item you've been jonesin' for free!
Look to Your Employer to Help You Save Money
Login to your company's intranet to see what deals and discounts are available to employees. You may find tickets at low prices for entertainment events happening in and around your area, and special discounts on things like car washes, oil changes and other other services you actually do need.
Get Paid to Shop
There's money to be made rather than spent when you shop with SecretShopper.com, a member of the Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) with almost 700,000 registered shoppers. For those who like to dine instead can get their food fix for free as Secret Shopper also reimburses for meals paid for. For access to their monthly "shops" near you, apply here.
Buy Generic Brands
In addition to medication, the generic equivalent to many name brand foods and personal care items are available. Things to look for are cereals, yogurt, vitamins, lotions and body care products to name a few.
Enter Contests
Currently budgeting for or maybe hoping someone will gift you the new iPad this holiday season? How about a smartphone? Instead of wishing, be proactive and run a Google search or set-up alerts to see if a blogger is running a contest to get the gadget you want for free! Often times all you have to do is support the person running the contest by following them on Twitter, "like" them on Facebook, and commenting on their blog about, most likely, why you could most use the gadget up for grabs. You can't win if you don't play. Plus, it's worth it if it means breathing room in your budget and putting your dollars to work somewhere else.
